Who am I?

Hi I'm Lydia! I grew up in the middle of good ole' Alexandria, Minnesooooota. I spent my summers on the lakes in the sun, swimming and tubing, and my winters ALSO on the lakes, playing hockey, and most significantly freezing my butt off. YES it is as cold as you'd think it is, if not worse, which is why I am here!

I married my high school sweetheart Riley, who I now get to call my amazing husband and best friend for life!!!! North Carolina has been our home since September 2024 and we sure don't plan on moving back to the Midwest (anytime soon at least)! We brought our (always smiling) golden retriever Finn who is a bundle of joy and loves the beach even more than we do! We are the happiest little family and we are so ecstatic to be here!

What Makes Me, Me?

If you want to know a little bit more about me, here we go...

I love to travel. My favorite locations so far have been Norway, Glacier National Park, and everywhere else I have been able to get some good use of my hiking boots. I dream of seeing as many places in this lifetime as I can, so wherever you want me, I am there!

I am a nurse. I graduated with my BSN at South Dakota State University in December of 2023 and worked as a critical care nurse in Sioux Falls, South Dakota until we moved to Wilmington!

I love coffee just like any other girl in her twenties. My go to drink here in Wilmington is undoubtedly a Saltwater Cowboy over at Social Coffee or an Iced Vanilla Chai from Bespoke in the downtown area!

If I could spend every day outside I would. Whether it is hiking in the mountains or sitting on a beach, count me in!

I am a foodie, ALWAYS. I will be looking for the best places to eat when we are travelling, so if you're ever travelling with me, look no further, I got us covered in the food department.

FINALLY, my middle name is Elisabeth, which is where the name Lydialis Photo comes from!!!

What inspires me?

The elderly man who smiled at me in the grocery store. The two little girls giggling on the playground after meeting 5 minutes prior. The older woman who shared photos of her grandchildren with me as she lay in the hospital bed that I was assigned to that day. The boy and girl that nervously smile at each other from across the table on their first date. The friend who you can always pick up where you left off with. My grandparents. My parents. My brothers. My best friends. My husband. You.

Everyone has a story to tell. And each story revolves around the concept of love. Whether it is a love for a friend, a relative, your husband of 55 years, or an "I am unfathomably in love with you and I want to spend the rest of my life loving you" type of love. Your love is what tells your story.

My inspiration is to love you all beyond measure and to articulate your concept of love through the beauty of storytelling brought to you by my lens.

what is my WHY?

In an incredibly miraculous world filled with an array of people, places, and things, WE GET TO EXIST. We have the opportunity to do whatever we want in this life. So why do I do what I do? The ability to love. To love as close to the love of Jesus as I can.

I want to be more than just a random girl who takes your photos. I want to be your friend. A friend who feels all of the feels with you! To smile with you as you smile at the one you love so effortlessly and document the timeless moments . To stand by you on your wedding day and help to capture the day you have dreamed of since you were a little kid. To shed a few tears with you when your newly labeled fiancé gets down on a knee and tells you how loved you are.

I want to be HERE FOR YOU!!! Whether it is in the process of booking, shooting, editing, or conversing, I want to love you and remind you of how loved you are.
